Macclesfield Town's outstanding pre season form continued at the Moss Rose yesterday afternoon as they put in anther good display and got another couple of goals.

Silkmen boss Gary Simpson put out his strongest squad and what could well be his starting XI against Stevenage in less that two weeks time.

Matty Hamshaw had another chance to impress the watching boss and with news that the club have offered him a contract, the ball is in Mattys court.  Lets hope he signs it as soon as possible.

Macc lined up with Veiga in goal.  Tremarco, Brown, Brisley and Reid at the back.  In midfield we had Hamshaw, Daniel, Butcher and Bolland with Sinclair and Barnett up front.

It was Macc who got the first goal of the game after just 14 minutes.  New signing Tyrone Barnett got his head to a Hamshaw corner and the ball bounced off the bar and in past City's keeper.

Only a few minutes later City equalised with a great goal by Norwegian under 19 international Omar Elabdellaoui (right) who looked very impressive.

Macc had the best chances of the half with Brisley and Butcher going close.  Emile Sinclair had a penalty claim turned down.

The Silkmen took control of the game in the second half as experience told.  Nat Brown headed home the winner on 55 minutes from another Matty Hamshaw cross.  You can see the goal here >>

Emile Sinclair and Butcher had chances to add to the scoreline but with both sides making a number of substitutions the game slowly petered out.

The win now makes it 6 games gone, 5 wins and 20 goals scored.  Things are looking good at the Moss Rose.
