Lincolnshire official Garry Sutton is in charge of tonight's League Cup match with Port Vale, his first ever QPR appointment.

Referee >>> Garry Sutton, Lincolnshire, fourth season on the list, first QPR appointment.

Assistants >>> Glenn Hambling, Norfolk, Elliott Kaye, Essex.

Fourth Official >>> Chris Knowles, Northants

Previously

This is Sutton’s first QPR appointment, but he has been in charge of our visitors on a few occasions. He was in charge for Port Vale’s 3-2 home win against Barnsley in League One in January 2006, booking one, a 2-2 draw at Huddersfield in March 2007, four booked, and a 4-3 defeat at Brentford a month later when the hosts were awarded a penalty and scored in the final minute. Last season he had them for a 2-1 win at Grimsby when Vale’s Robert Taylor was sent off, and a 3-1 home win against Dagenham in April.

Stats

Sutton had a two season break from the league refereeing list, during which time he refereed non-league and ran the line in the Football League, including appointments in the play offs. Last season he showed 58 yellows (2.41 a game) and five reds in 24 games.

Other listings

League Cup >>> Trevor Kettle, Rutland, twice bottom of the LFW referee league, takes Wycombe v Millwall. Gavin Ward, Staffordshire, harshly sent off Damion Stewart and awarded Reading a late penalty for a rating of 1/10 at Reading last season, has MK Dons v Dagenham and Redbridge.
