Cardiff City Chairman Peter Risdale says he has had no contact with Swansea over the banning of away fans at the Liberty
Risdale was reacting to reports in yesterday's newspapers that Cardiff fans could be banned from the Liberty fixture on November 7 due to the escalating cost of policing the game.
The paper claimed that talks had taken place already between the two sides over the potential ban - a claim denied by the Cardiff Chairman who told the Western Mail “It’s the first I have heard of it. I have had no contact with Swansea City on this issue whatsoever.
“As far as this club and I am concerned our supporters will be at the Liberty Stadium – just as they are at any other ground in the country.
“What we all want is for the two clubs and the two sets of supporters to enjoy a football match in safety.
“But banning fans is not the answer. People will be banning the away team for turning up next!
“As far as Cardiff City is concerned the fixture will go ahead as it did three times last season – with away fans present.”
