You can pretty much put Adam Rundle's season into two halves: the half with Steve Parkin in charge and the half with Keith Hill in half.

The initial signs were promising. Then manager Steve Parkin made all the right noises in the Summer of 2006 of wanting to bring a left winger into the club, and Rundle met all the right criteria. Available, young and with plenty still to prove.

And it started in the right way, and he was leading scorer at one point after he scored our first goal of the season after about seventeen matches. However, as the team's form continued to suffer, Parkin switched the side's tactics to 4-3-3 which pretty much meant that there was no place in the squad for Rundle.

And so it remained. Until Parkin was replaced by Keith Hill, Rundle's only outings were for the reserve side. But Hill reverted the side back to 4-4-2 and stuck Rundle back in at left wing, and if truth be told, he never looked back from there.

There was a slight dip towards the end of January, which saw new recruit Rory Prendergast come in and take the left wing position, but it last just a couple of games, and Rundle made that position his own, showing his best form of the season in the process.

He ended the season with five goals to his name and signed a new contract in the Summer of 2007.

How will Man City react to Rodri blow?
Manchester City midfielder Rodri is arguably the best at what he does in world football. Fresh off the back of yet more success with City last season and with Spain at the Euros in the summer, it was expected the Spaniard would be back to lead the charge for Pep Guardiola’s side this term. But his season is already over due to a serious knee injury.
Toney’s Future On Hold Until After The Euros
Ivan Toney is expected to be the subject of a lot of interest this summer, with his Brentford future in doubt. The striker, who has been a revelation since joining The Bees, has spoken of his desire to challenge himself at the highest level possible, but talks on his future will now be put on hold because of Euro 2024.
