Reports are emerging that City have agreed a deal with Porto to sign Fernando. City have been tracking the Brazilian for the last 12 months and came close to sealing a deal on transfer deadline day in January.
The 26-year-old will become Manuel Pellegrini’s second signing of the summer following Bacary Sagna’s arrival from Arsenal on a free transfer.
"[The club] would like to inform that we have arrived at an agreement with Manchester City for the permanent transfer of the midfielder Fernando for €15 million,” a statement from Porto read.
Fernando made 142 appearances for Porto, winning the Primeira Liga four times, as well as the Europa League in 2011
