And just when you wondered if we had finished with our summer signings we went and made another one but this was an extended contract for Lukasz Fabianski that is some of the best news that we could have had ahead of the Chelsea game.
Fabianski was without a doubt one of the stars of last season having arrived at the club in the summer on a free transfer from Arsenal.
He was a breath of fresh air in the Swansea goal, commanding his area at every opportunity as a goalkeeper should and won the Swans many points with a series of brilliant saves most notably against his former club at the Emirates towards the end of the season.
And that is one of the reasons why this is some of the best news this summer and comes with perfect timing almost on the eve of the new season.
