Lost 1-0. They won PL2 division 2 last season, the league we've been relegated to. A lot of investment made in their u23s in the last few seasons as you'd imagine.

According to the team sheet we had 3 trialists in the squad, anyone know who they were? Still Oduwa having a game?

If it’s Marko Mrkic he’s a forward who’s played once for Serbia. 22.

Is the American that defender we was linked to a couple of weeks ago?

Lad I know who played for Carmarthen reckoned Oduwa looked quality, obviously against limited opposition.

Yeah I chuckled when I read it.

Who knows if he will be good enough for Championship but was the best player on the park that particular day.

It looks like our under 23s are very young as so many of last year's team have moved into the senior squad.

Most of that team are second year pros now. Only Dan Williams, Cam Evans and MJT in their first pro year. Rushesha still a scholar. It's a healthy mix, I wouldn't say it's particularly a young side.

The days of putting out teams of 21/22 year olds we bought for six figure sums is gone, and that's certainly no terrible thing. Pathways for progression have to be open at every level for the system to work properly.

5 of the players involved yesterday were over 21 and there is still an active push to bring in some players between the age of 20-22 into the under 23s.

Jasper has gone down the route of needing an opinion on everything, which is a shame.

"An active push" to buy players for the u23s you mean?

For the U23s yes. There is a concern that they need to bring the average up and bridge the gap with players ready to play U23s and ready to push into the first team.
When you consider the amount of players put into the 1st team from this group, you can understand why they want to look at players within a certain age group as previously mentioned.

Don't listen to Jasper, he doesn't have a clue only an opinion on what he thinks is right......and he is so far from it from reading his post.

I'd like to see a few signings for the u23s actually. That will show that we are backing the manager almost as much as signing some boys for the first team
