New York City coach Jason Kreis has dismissed talk of Lampard extending his loan deal with City. The veteran midfileder joined City in order to keep up his fitness ahead of the new MLS season which starts early next year.

Lampard as been very impressive so far, scoring 3 in his last 2 games at Eastlands including that all important equaliser against his old club Chelsea.

Pellegrini as spoke of extending the deal to perhaps cover Yaya Toure's departure to play in the African Cup Of Nations but all talk of this as now been dismissed.

The Manchester Evening News as reported that the New York manager Kreis expects to see Lampard for the first day of training and said: "There is no truth in this rumour at all."
