City Share The Points At Goodison
Monday, 12th Jan 2015 11:07

City were frustrated on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park where they were held to a 1-1 draw against Everton. City are now 14 games unbeaten.

The opening 10 minutes were played at a frantic pace, with both teams throwing bodies forward. The first real chance fell to City, as David Silva played in Stevan Jovetic. Alone in front of the goalkeeper, the Montenegrin should have done better but curled the ball wide.

City continued to work the ball well and Jovetic had another chance, but missed again after great work from Silva.

The closest either side came to scoring was just before the break when Joe Hart came out quickly to block Romelu Lukaku's shot and Seamus Coleman hammered the rebound against the crossbar from distance.

The second half started and Lukaku threatened for Everton as he beat Mangala before forcing Hart into a smart save with a low drive.

City then threw on Aguero in a bid to try and force a breakthrough and it came 16 minutes from time when Silva had a shot deflected into the air and Fernandinho was on hand to head home from close range.

However, the lead lasted just four minutes as Hart failed to deal with a Leighton Baines free-kick into the area and Steven Naismith pounced to nod home the equaliser.

City pushed hard for a winner but it wasn't to be.
