Pascoe Linked With A Swansea Return
Friday, 5th Jun 2015 20:25 by #lfc

The dust had barely settled on Colin Pascoe's departure from Liverpool when certain sections of the media had him linked with a return to the Liberty Stadium on the coaching staff.

Pascoe was reported to be leaving Liverpool this season, a casualty of a poor season for the Reds that saw them end the season empty handed and fail in their quest to retain their Champions League qualification.

It represents just how fortunes can change in football with his departure coming just twelve months after Liverpool almost won their first league title in more than twenty years finishing narrow runners up to Manchester City.

But the sale of Luis Suarez and the long time absence of Daniel Sturridge hit Liverpool hard and an early departure from Europe and poor league form have led not just Pascoe's position to come under threat but that of manager Brendan Rodgers as well.

Pascoe left the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2012 alongside Rodgers having worked alongside him for two years and helped lead the Swans into the Premier League for the first time in their history.

And it took less than two hours for the media to start linking the former Swansea man with a return to the club although it would almost certainly be at best as part of the coaching staff given the record breaking form that the Swans showed last season.

The rumour though I suspect at the moment has no substance at all and I am not sure it would ever come to fruition but it was no surprise to hear it mentioned already this evening.
