What Better Time To Beat Tottenham?

The Swans head off on Sunday in search of a first Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur and it would be the perfect tonic to the end of a particularly poor period for the Swans in between international breaks.

Two weeks back we came back from the international break still on the high of beating Manchester United and lifting ourselves above them into fourth place in the Premier League.

Three league games and one point later we are down to 11th in the league and also out of the Capital One Cup thanks to an evening of not taking our chances against Hull City.

It will be a run that we will look to end as soon as possible and certainly the perfect solution would be to grab a win, no matter how we do it, to lift confidence before the next international window starts at the end o the game.

The season always feels stop start at this stage but after eight points in the opening four, the maximum we will get from the next four is four which will still make for a decent enough start to the season but you can almost understand how some people are already looking over their shoulders.

We know from years of experience that good teams do not become bad teams overnight and that adage is very true in the case of the Swans but at the moment it is not happening and for all the words of the players it is now time to stop being disappointed and give us a performance that does not disappoint you.

Spurs we know are on good form after what looked a shaky start to the season and they will look to build on that at the Liberty.

Spurs have won the last 7 of the 8 Premier League encounters between the two sides, the other one ended in a draw thanks to a late equaliser from Scott Sinclair and that makes for the worst record the Swans have in the Premier League against any side that has been here every season.

So it is one of those occasions where the odds will be stacked against us but we have seven from nine Premier League points at home this season and we are more than capable of pulling off a result, the question of course is will we?
