There's No Crisis Says Ash

The words of Captain Ashley Williams are wise ones as he looks to spur (no pun intended) his team on this week to ensure that they go into the next international break with a winning mentality behind them and end the four game winless streak that has cost us seven league places.

It is a big couple of weeks for Williams because he knows there are already some starting to write off the team after two sub standard performances at Watford and Southampton. He will also be off to join the Wales squad this time next week who are set to finish the qualification job and, next summer, end a 58 year exile from the final stages of an international competition.

But focus for Ash at the moment is very much on the Swans and he says - rightly so - that there is no crisis at the club. There was talk of relegation at the weekend in some quarters but we know that good teams do not become bad overnight and that is something that we need to remember as we look to end a run of seven straight defeats against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

Ash is planning a hard week for the team ahead of the Spurs clash but admits that the poor performances is not something he has seen coming in training in the lead up to games

"I can't remember the last time we had a bad week's training. We train very hard – it's very intense" said the Swans captain

"But sometimes a little bit more than hard work is needed. You need to work out what's going wrong.

"Hard work is not just physical. We'll have to talk a lot and have plenty of meetings.

"Myself and the senior boys won't let it be a quiet week.

"We've got to discuss things and get it out in the open.

"It's not crisis time or anything like that.

"We've got enough talent in that dressing room. It's just about getting back to that level that we're capable of."
