Donnelly signs on loan Monday, 21st Jan 2008 14:24 Sheffield United winger Martin Donnelly has signed for Rochdale on loan until the end of the season. Donnelly,19, signed after impressing Keith Hill in a reserve game win over Tranmere Rovers in which he grabbed one of the goals in a 3-0 victory. Speaking to the official club website, Hill had the following to say about Donnelly after that convincing win : - "Martin is a very intelligent player with an excellent touch. He is very reminiscent of Scott Sellars who is his Youth Team coach at Bramhall Lane. We have the chance to have a good look at him with a loan spell to follow and it could prove to be benificial to both parties" The official Sheffield United website describes Martin as a "quick and skilful left-sided midfielder, he refuses to let his diminutive stature to be a disadvantage." Donnelly has also represented Northern Ireland at youth level and has continued his development appearing regularly for the Sheffield United reserve team.
