If you’re going to South Africa, then you should get to a meeting organised by the FSF this week.

The Football Supporters Federation are hosting a meeting at Hillsborough starting at 7pm on Thursday 10th December, to tell you all about the World Cup from a supporters’ perspective.

The first speaker will be Kevin Miles, the International co-ordinator for the FSF. Kevin went to South Africa for the draw and immediately afterwards he met the local coordinators and representatives of each venue where England will be playing their group games.

So he will give all the latest information from Kevin about the preparations that are being made, what each city can offer and the best advice regarding accommodation, transport and safety.

Next up will be the England fans representative from the FA, who will be able to answer all your ticketing questions know we know the venues, the dates, the capacity and the ticket allocation that England will receive. Depending on your cap level, the 70/30 split and the size of the ticket allocation will all affect how likely it is you will be able to get tickets, and how much it will cost.

The final speaker will be Paul Campbell from Travel Butlers, a company who specialise in trips to South Africa. Paul knows the availability of hire cars, coaches, trains, hotels etc, and can help you in making your bookings, and suggest the things to do in South Africa whilst not watching a game of footy!

He has a wealth of knowledge about the country and bags of experience when it comes to organising trips for people from Britain. He has helped cricket and rugby fans on trips to SA so he will have the right advice for us as well.

So you are strongly advised to get to Hillsborough on Thursday if at all possible, but if you can’t make it, then be sure to visit the FSF’s excellent World Cup website.
