News Stories for Yaya Toure

City Dealt Title Blow At Turf Moor Mon 16th Mar 2015
Manchester City’s Premier League title defense was dealt a further blow Saturday with a first loss to Burnley in 41 years. The Citizens struggled to click throughout the game, although both Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero did go close. However, the moment of the match came courtesy of George Boyd’s sweetly-struck effort on the hour-mark which gave Joe Hart no chance.

City Get Back To Winning Ways Thu 05th Mar 2015
After two losses in the past week Manchester City got back to winning ways with a unconvincing 2-0 win against bottom club Leicester City. Centre half Vincent Kompany was one of five players dropped by Pellegrini following the back-to-back defeats to Barcelona and Liverpool. Pablo Zabaleta, Samir Nasri, Fernandinho and Edin Dzeko were also paid the price for the Anfield defeat but Pellegrini's shake-up paid off with goals from David Silva and sub James Milner. This made room for Wilfried Bony to make his long-awaited full debut.
City Look To Close The Gap Fri 27th Feb 2015
Liverpool are the Premier League's in form team but along with the reigning Premier League champions they will both be hurting from painful European experiences. With Chelsea playing in the Capital One Cup final City can close the gap on the London side to two points. Liverpool beat City 3-2 at Anfield last April to take themselves closer to wining the title for the Reds to (literally) slip up.
No Fear Tue 24th Feb 2015
Ahead of tonight's Champions League fixture against Barcelona French midfielser Samir Nasri has said there is no inferiority complex this time. A year ago at the same stage City bowed out 4-1 on aggregate against the four-times European champions but this time there is a growing confidence in squad says Nasri. "I think it was too much of a big game for us (last year)," Nasri told a news conference on Monday. "We gave Barca too much respect last year.
City Look To Build On Stoke Win Fri 20th Feb 2015

José Mourinho’s Chelsea are seven points ahead of City andwith only 13 matches remaining, City’s challenge is to go for a maximum return of 39 and hope Chelsea slip up. City Boosted By Yaya & Bony Return Tue 17th Feb 2015
Frank Lampard has said that the return of Yaya Toure and the arrival of Wilfried Bony will give Manchester City a huge boost for the rest of the season. Pellegrini's team's form has dipped while the two were away on a successful African cup Of Nations trip but their return in time for City's next Premier League fixture against Newcasle and the the Champions League fixture with Barcelona is just what the team need.
City Look To Cut Lead Tue 10th Feb 2015
Manchester City travel to the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday to take on Stoke City. The Citizens have never won at the Britannia but will need to do so if they are to cut Chelsea's seven point lead on them. Stoke have only lost one of their last nine matches in all competitions and are tenth in the table.
EA Sports Player Performance Index : Man City Vs Hull City Fri 06th Feb 2015
Manchester City had Sergio Aguero to thank as they held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Manuel Pellegrini’s men immediately hitting back after going behind to a poacher’s goal from Loic Remy.
No Worries Over Toure But Progress Means No Return Thu 29th Jan 2015
Manchester City's Yaya Toure took a heavy knock during the Ivory Coast's win over Cameroon in the African Cup Of Nations game. Toure though say's he will be fit for the quarter final game against Algeria. The win though is bad news for blues as the Ivory Coast's progress means there is no way that Toure and City's new signing Bony will be back for the Chelsea clash this weekend.
