City Dealt Title Blow At Turf Moor Mon 16th Mar 2015
Manchester City’s Premier League title defense was dealt a further blow Saturday with a first loss to Burnley in 41 years. The Citizens struggled to click throughout the game, although both Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero did go close. However, the moment of the match came courtesy of George Boyd’s sweetly-struck effort on the hour-mark which gave Joe Hart no chance.

After two losses in the past week Manchester City got back to winning ways with a unconvincing 2-0 win against bottom club Leicester City. Centre half Vincent Kompany was one of five players dropped by Pellegrini following the back-to-back defeats to Barcelona and Liverpool. Pablo Zabaleta, Samir Nasri, Fernandinho and Edin Dzeko were also paid the price for the Anfield defeat but Pellegrini's shake-up paid off with goals from David Silva and sub James Milner. This made room for Wilfried Bony to make his long-awaited full debut.

James Milner managed to rescue a point for Manchester City as they continue to struggle. The draw at home to Hull City who started the match three places from the foot of the table left City seven points behind the leaders Chelsea. The champions are now without a win in their last five games in all competitions - including four in the league - and now face an uphill task to retain the Premier League title.

Manchester City kept up the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea in a hard fought 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in saturday's tea time kick off. Although Chelsea failed to win at home for the first time this season the London club's defensive minded approach suggested they were happy with a draw. City manager Manuel Pellegrini on the other hand wasn't as content telling Sky Sports;“You may say it is a good point at Stamford Bridge but for me is it not because we were better than Chelsea. I thought we deserved more than a point because we had clear chances.” Chelsea recorded only three shots on target during the match, their fewest since the season of 2003/04.
