Although Chelsea failed to win at home for the first time this season the London club's defensive minded approach suggested they were happy with a draw. City manager Manuel Pellegrini on the other hand wasn't as content telling Sky Sports;“You may say it is a good point at Stamford Bridge but for me is it not because we were better than Chelsea. I thought we deserved more than a point because we had clear chances.” Chelsea recorded only three shots on target during the match, their fewest since the season of 2003/04.

Middlesbrough manager Karanka got his tactics absolutely perfect to stun Manuel Pellegrini, who rightly admitted afterwards that City’s Championship opponents “deserved” to win. Pellegrini would not though blame City's mid-week trip to Abu Dhabi for the defeat. “Of course, I understand how it looks,” Pellegrini told the Independent. “Everyone can have their own opinion. I don’t think it was the reason we lost but I will accept all opinions. “It was not a game against Chelsea and I don’t want to say [whether I would have done the same thing] because you are asking me something that is not relevant.”

City stormed to a 3-0 lead at the Hawthorns saturday in a little over 30first half minutes. If it wasn't for the snow stormed which created almost whiteout conditions the game could of easily went on to be a cricket score. That's nine straight wins now and City are quietly keeping the pressure on leaders Chelsea. City were still without any forwards on the pitch but the good news was Jovetic did make the bench.

City picked up a crucial victory on Sunday against rivals United to keep them six points behind leaders Chelsea. In a game that had just about everything,Smalling was sent off for United after picking up two yellow cards in eight first half minutes. A move that prompted United manager Van Gaal to call Smalling stupid. Aguero scored for City to seal the 1-0 win for the Blues.
