Quote from Martin Jol about bobby Zamora "He hated defence and later said he hated crosses as well and that was the moment I thought 'maybe it is better to sell' and that is what we did."

It was there for all to see today, cost us a goal today.

Thought Granero was outstanding, diakite too.

v 10 men is hard but chuck on an extra attacker...so we bring on 2 defenders and ferdy has been poor for a while, park does little imo
i would have had zamora and park off for cisse and mackie on.
all the nice football, all the possession=no wins and few shots on target, we had a few long range but i can't recall many goal mouth scrambles.
zamora loses the ball too often, he cost us at spurs and it goes on.
hold it or learn to "ride" the foul from behind, like holt does.

Had to settle for the point against a very good Everton side.

A much better performance, in midfield/attack! However, Zamora very poor. Thought Park was a lot better and my initial thoughts that he should have picked Faurlin instead were overuled as I think Park adds a bit more pace and aggression which balanced the midfield.

I believe Cisse should have replaced Zamora a little earlier, although he did benefit from the game being stretched when he came on. I don't think that we should have gone chasing the win as we could easily have been picked off AND ANOTHER CONSECUTIVE DEFEAT WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS FOR OUR CONFIDENCE. As it is we have a point against a very good team and a good performance, although we rode our luck a bit immediately after their equaliser.

We now have to sort out defending, especially set pieces, and go looking for points. I agree the next two home games are vital.

At least Coleman is playing Cavanagh in his recognised position now. He looked totally uncomfortable and lacking in confidence and pace in mid-field. It was like playing with a back 5. Reckon midfield of Tutte, Kennedy and Edwards is probably our best option at present - more balance and more attacking minded. How Kennedy was dropped is beyond belief. Hopefully he is back for good, in my opinion he is our best player, along with Bennett.

Thanks faggy but looking at the player scores then Cavanagh certainly appears to have had another stinker even at full back.
If he plays on Tues then I think JC will really get the bird from the crowd - which I expect to be below 2000 and then maybe Dunphy might start to take notice.

Up to now I have been critical of MH team choice but against Everton I think he put out a strong team, its a pity it was so patchy. There is no "feel" about our team & I think this is because they are a bit like a mercenary army...bought in to do a job rather than "grow" within the club. Not much can be done about that especially with a manager devoid of motivational skills. We played well in the first half but the half time team talk (whatever it was ) seems to have put an end to that.
Cisse looks fed up,Zamora is lumbering about upfield, Park works his socks off but frequently fails.
Of the new "boys" Nelson & Grenaro seem the most committed, I think the former should have been made captain as he is very bossy and gets stuck in with a vengence (but doesnt foul). Is Mackie injured? He is always worth bringing on as a sub as he knows where the goal mouth is , (unlike SWP).

Yes we played well but once again we gifted our opponents their goal. We seem to make a knack of shooting ourselves in the foot. In my mind that was another 2 points given away.

Thank goodness SWP didn't play. Hopefully Hughes has finally got the message now?

I truly hope this is the moment we turned the corner and that we get a point or more at Arsenal and beat both Reading and Southampton.

I am a firm supporter of Mark Hughes and I desperately was him to stay and succed but no matter what Tony F says publicly, if we lose to Reading and Southampton I fully expect he will make swift changes at the top.

Novembers 4 games will make or break the Hughes tenure at Loftus Rd.

My last sentence should have read 5 games not 4. Doh!
