Shelvey leaving too much space defensively. Cork should start instead of Shelvey next week as Arsenal would punish that space more effectively than Villa. Worth giving Eder a start over Gomis.

Most probably one of the worst opposing teams we have faced in years which is strange as I think Karl Robinson
Is a decent manager. They've got some decent players, but I think they froze in 'awe' of the opposition !

Crazy day at Loftus Road, the last 20 minutes saved Ramsey after a poor and very boring first half.
Cries of "You dont know what your doing" when Luongo was taken off , QPR fans chanting Off Off Off
when Karl Henry was yellow carded, but the faithful were rewarded with 3 very good goals. JET was MOM but Tozser hit the pass of the season for the Phillips goal - even Junior did well when he came on - fully committed.

Grant Hall learning from Clints full commitment, another good game from the "oldie" with another clean sheet. Glad we got the win before the trip to Brentford - looking forward to Friday night - U Rrrrrrrssss !

A draw was probably about fair with neither side doing enough to deserve the win. I think Saints will be happy overall but the Mane sending off was unnecessary.VVD was superb marshalling the defence. Great to see Gaston play and set up the equaliser. He only had a small opportunity but grabbed it with both hands.

Nice air kick from pelle to bring him down to earth . I thought that Gaston did very well when he came on and maybe mane being sent off was a bit harsh .
Overall pleased with not losing but on another day with a bit more luck would have taken the points .

Neither side looked good enough to win and the draw was more or less what most expected and for once Saints didn't throw it away through carelessness or lack of concentration. Looks likely these two sides are more or less at the same level as last season, although at the moment Saints have better organisation and more momentum.

Expect them to be close at season's end, maybe scrapping over 6th or 7th.

Right now it looks like Spurs will challenge the top 4 pecking order and it is hard to believe WHU or Leicester can keep it going through the winter with the inevitable disruptions though injuries and fatigue that all clubs experience.

Too msny changes and a weakened side, but still managed to get the job done.
I know we were somewhat limited in attack, but Pelle rarely got service in the first haf and we only really started playing one we were in front.
Yes Villa had more shots and corners, but most of their shots and headers were well wide, or of back pass strngth.
We shaded it and should have pushed on more once going in front, but we played much more openly, freely snd passed much more cohesively once Tadic and STEVEN Davis (not Kelvin) came on. 2 great goals but could and shouldnhave been more comfortable. The late pen was a tad harsg, but no worries as it was the last kick.

A few good performances (Vic VvD Stek and Rom), but too many not quite up to it especially JWP who had a poor night.

Saints didn't get out of second gear but then didn't need to. Nice goal for Yoshida but he is still not a permanent solution at right back for me. Disappointing performance from Juanmi who looks like he needs much more of RKs toughening up training. Hutton had him on toast all evening except for one superb tackle but there was very little attacking evidence. Pelle worked his socks off all match and deserved his goal when it came. He was man of match for me but there wasn't much competition.

Too many changes for me too, when stating we would want to win this competition. And that showed in our quite poor Performance.
Some of the Players coming in did okay. Ramirez set the Goal up that Yoshida did very well to finish, but Ramirez did not offer too much apart from that and Maya did get exposed in defense more than once as he simply is no FB. Targett had a good game for me apart from the situation when Stekelenburg had to save Bacuna's shot on the near post. Romeu did quite good and finally managed to not get booked. Caulker has done okay. Juanmi sadly offered nothing at all but just one great tackle. And JWP simply has been shocking...
Apart from the goal I personally have not been happy with Pelle trying to backheel and flick every ball which never worked - as if it was a game that didn't matter at all.

That is the best match rating Kelvin Davis is ever going to get!
