Another case of just what might have been today at San Spotty........nearly held on for a fortunate win but the defense was again found wanting.

Don't start a totaliser of Points Dropped in extra time.......yo would have nightmares!

Simply dreadful. Truth is we had some very average players out there today. Nothing helpful at all from the coaches.

We were rubbish. We played like it was the first match of the season. Having watched bmth twice I must congratulate their falling over coach every fifty fifty ball resulted in one of their players tumbling to the floor as did the mearest touch from one of our players. Maybe we should poach the coach and hope that a very poor ref is conned just like yesterday

Started well but no cutting edge up front without Gabby or Austin. In the end we were lucky not to lose, and that's not even factoring in the penalty miss.
There were some positives: Stephens and Maya continue to perform well (although we will need to replace VVD when we inevitably sell him). Redmond had a good game.
Negatives: Forster continues to look dodgy from crosses, and almost destroyed Stephen at one point. Jay Rod must be getting lessons from Long on timing his runs!

We were back to the pre-Gabby toothlessness. What should have been 2 or 3 up at half-time but ended up hanging on for dear life. A better team than Bournemouth would have put us to the sword in the second half. Thank god for Romeu. After a good game at Spuds Forster was back to his worst. This kills off any fantasies of us having a late season surge up the table - I will be delighted when we get to 40 points.

The first 20 mins we could've been out of sight, but like many games this season the same pattern began to continue. With gabbi we look a totally different outfit.
Give Puel credit, with 20 mins left he did try to change it but being positive almost
lost us the game. The thing is this game is going to be remembered for the last 20 minutes & not the 70 minutes previous where I thought we were very good at times & Bournemouth were one of the worst sides I have seen at St Marys this season. I would give Boufal a game on Wednesday, giving him 15-20 mins here & there doesn't help. Tadic looks favourite to leave in the summer so give Boufal a chance.

Total Rubbish. We need to clear out some of the very average players and buy better replacements. What has happened to Clasie he was starting to look good. Why does he keep taking Tadic off without he we don't create anything. Must sell Boufal in the summer he is a total waste of space. Must be time to start Caceres.

The football at times on Saturday was a pleasure to watch where Saints were passing it around with ease. It seems they had focused more on that in the training sessions. In the first half, we were breaking through Bournemouth with ease. Now, it would be great to continue this summary of the game with more positives but without goals it is pointless. All we needed was to bring on Bill Murray to complete “Groundhog Day”. I am sure Jay Rodriguez told Claude Puel when they first met that he was a forward; the sad thing is we need a goal scorer. Let’s forget “striker, forward, attacking midfielder”, players should add the prefix ‘goal scoring’ in front of their position if they really mean it!!. Primarily though, I just feel the fans thought we had got over this playing well and getting nothing. What must Gabbiadini have thought when he watched the match, watching those missed chances. One last mention goes out to those fans who once again left early. It was 0-0 and Saints had a chance.

Much better second half paved the way for an impressive win. Tadic, Redmond and Romeu outstanding - I've really warmed to Redmond; he has come on as the season has worn on. Shane Long did some good things and could have had at least a couple; his finishing let's him down. Cedric played well and so did Yoshida; let's have no more bagging of Maya - he's a genuine Prem CB.

Much improved performance and had we had either of our 2 preferred strikers on the pitch, we could have won by a hatful. Typically though, in the Saints way, early pressure doesn't get converted into goals, we concede on the counter and make it hard work for ourselves.

Great team spirit and constantly put Palace under pressure and created some fantastic chances.

Persistance paid off and we got the important win that our performance deserved.

Not sure where they dig these officials up from though. Absolutely awful decisions for both sides. How he didn't see Schlupp's scoop when it was right in front of him was unbelievable and he bottled it when Long was about to shoot but got felled. Perhaps he thinks Long has previous ? Was a pen and a red card for me. Yes Davis fouled Zaha for our first goal, but he was letting similar challenges from Benteke go all night, so justice was served.

Special mention to Tadic, for creating an abundance of chances, Romeu for his usual performance, Cedric for a great show (Pied to pressure him into his best performances?) and Redmond - please do what you are capable of, all game, not just in fits and starts ;-)
