The last thing Puel needed was another nil. I have given up worrying whose fault the lack of goals is but I do expect we will be looking for a new manager come early next week...

After that total crap today it must be PUEL OUT. He is clueless. Just dosent know how to motivate the team or change to a different system. Just does like for like substitutions.

Just stuck for words to describe this season at least nothing that you can put in print.A season on paper looking at 8th in the league and a cup final dosn't really tell the whole story of how disappointing this campaign has really been. Positions that were so obvious to have been filled were left and never were, if ever a team needs a new direction it's my beloved Saints, 46 points 8th place is not a success.

Too many players not up for it. Not playing for the manager?

Dull, boring and insipid. We have gone from a team that last season took Arsenal and Man City apart to a team that was out played by Hull!!!!!!!!!!
Only positive I can find is that the roadworks will be finished before the start of the next season (hopefully)

A summer with no Euros or WC and a welcome break from rubbish football - that was one of the dullest seasons I can remembe

Another game - another blank !! I think everyone thought this would be 0-0, but from a Saints perspective, at least over 31,000 turned up to see it.

Same old story. We create chances, don't score and then get sucker-punched.

Good to see Charlie back and he actually did a lot more running than I expected and oh how different the game may have been if he had converted a chance or two - still he is rustier than most !! Redmond should have scored though, but hit the bar, Gabi, JWP and Davis all had great chances but a combination of poor finishing and great keeping meant another blank.

Stoke rarely threatened though and seemed more intent on wasting as much time as possible. Especially Butland taking goal kicks and Shaqiri going down at every opportunity. Bizarre that we left Crouch at the far post with just Cedric marking him. Jack or Yosh should have picked him up - or as it was in the 6 yard box, FF should have come and punched !!

Upon reflection, at least we tried a bit more to score than we have in our last 4 or 5 games, but it was still a game with no urgency, directness or determination - the players are still on the beach and have been for many weeks now, since we got to 38/40 points. This I fear is down to the manager and his motivational skills - followed up with truly awful post match press conferences.

How we stumbled to 8th I will never know, but the reality is, we finished above Bournemouth on goal difference. West Ham had an awful season in their new stadium, but finished ONE point behind us !! The same can be said for Leicester who were in a relegation fight for a lot of the season and were only 2 points behind us !! Swansea were in the bottom 3 all season and had 3 managers and were only 5 points below is !! Everton were so far in front of us it is embarrassing !!

Yes we got to a Cup Final, but didn't win it, didn't take Europa seriously (I went to homes plus Milan and Prague away), threw ourselves on our own sword in the FA Cup and with so many changes throughout the whole season, ruined our chances of qualifying for Europe again. Extremely disappointing, something must be done to address this - but regardless I've renewed and will still give the boys my support !!
