Luongo mom for me, turning into Diakite with a brain!

Alex Baptiste! WOW! Where did that performance come from? What happened to the timid starts we saw previously? Was it just shifting him to the right that made such a difference.

Ipswich poor side, start to season a bit of a fluke, keeper kept them in it....but....could've snatched a point if it hadn't been for Lua Lua. What a cameo, brilliant cross, won three free kicks and kept playing into the corner to Smith. Saw the game out!

That's more like it

But still got to learn not to wobble after conceding a goal

The best team won today silva set his team up perfect and pressed and didn't allow us to play so you cannot take that away from them. Like most of us mentioned on here the end of last season to get silva. But hey what do we know.
As for us we looked out of sorts a tired lamina would have played better we really look like we are struggling to put mp ideas in place on the pitch but we have to give him time. With who we have played and only 5 points on board is not good and lose to palace and that will be worrying. On the plus side I really enjoyed my half time cheeseburger so saints are getting something right.

Think I can forget about us being safe by Xmas and then going out and winning the FA Cup in May.
Seemed to be short on ideas of how to break down a terrible Newcastle side, who wanted to foul their way through the game as well as squad depth.
Could have done with the new players sooner than we got them, so as we could have got them up to speed.
Ah well.
Onwards and upwards- otherwise it's going to be a long old season

Difficult night, opponents all in your face, up for it and performing well. Difficult conditions with wind and rain and a complete prat of a referee. We couldn't settle, get any passing going, looked a lot like last season and had to thank Smithies from preventing a cricket score.

Then we got better, got a break with the sending off, overcame the setback of losing the skipper and a poorly conceded second goal, battled for every ball, got a bit of passing going and played our way back into the game. Something we didn't have much of last year and haven't seen this season yet. The comeback!

Well done lads, still uneaten at home

How enjoyable was that ! Rain, wind, greasy pitch, ''out of his depth, strange, and upsetting both sides'' referee. Millwall strong, quick and very effective. We were not at the races early on. Smithies kept us in it.
Never easy against 10 men - especially if they are defending a 2 goal lead. Could count ourselves somewhat unlucky not to have completely turned it around and won the game. Like the look of this squad - working for each other with great determination. We will not be the best team in this league - far from it - but we are trying to play decent football and fighting - for the team and the supporters. What a nice change - and I will take that every match day throughout the season. Long may it last. Massimo - loving what he is developing into.
