GFH Capital have released a further statement detailing their plans, if successful in the acquisition of Leeds United and it all sounds very grand...well obviously it would now wouldn't it?
A further statement to the one on Thursday, which was released late last night will have the travelling Leeds fans to Bristol both ecstatic and dizzy. Hisham Alrayes, CEO of GFH spoke of moving the club back to the Premier League "as soon as possible".
He promised the surrounding community would also feel the benefits of their big plans. He also talked of "bordering the gap between differing cultures", pointing out that Bahrain and the Gulf is like many other parts of the world where they are "passionate about football, notably English clubs, their successes and hardships are a daily talking point."
GFH Chief Executive David Haigh, a self-confessed Leeds fan from Cornwall and tipped by many for a significant role at the club when the Ken Bates regime finally toppled confirmed that attendance at recent Leeds matches which Mr Alrayes and another colleague Salem Patel has made them "more determined" to complete the deal reportedly worth £52m.
Haigh also paid tribute to current owner/chairman Bates as "the existing infrastructure of the club and the result of the work of Ken Bates means that Leeds United is ready off the field to compete in the Premier League"
Whilst the Daily Mail point out that many fans will disagree with Haigh's words,I don't think he is far wrong, it is the investment "on the field" or lack of it which has hindered our progress back to the Premiership we bowed-out from in 2004.
Mr Patel also talked of an intention to buy back Elland Road eventually, which suggests any deal is for the club only.
Like Thursday's statement, it all sounds very wonderful but with nothing coming out of Elland Road and it all being subject to Bates agreeing and scribbling his monicker on a bit of paper, I am keeping the Pomagne very much on ice for now.
However should our wildest-dreams come true, another fantasy that won't be happening is the return of Jermaine Beckford as he joined Huddersfield on. 93-day-loan last night.
