El Hadji Diouf struck twice to ensure Leeds kept up their impressive sequence at Ashton Gate.

Leeds have relied on the brilliance of Robert Snodgrass to ensure their previous two visits to this part of the West Country were successful, however it was the man who controversially replaced him who stole the stage today with another sound performance in a white shirt which must have surely convinced those who still shudder at the sight of the Senegalese international playing for Leeds that it was a master stroke by Neil Warnock to put aside their old differences and offer him a short-term deal.

Diouf is only contracted to Leeds until January, but he has apparently given Warnock assurances he will be around for a hit longer and not swop chilly West Yorkshire and a hardy lucrative financial deal with Leeds for sunnier climes in Dubai or Qatar.

After a dour first half, Diouf broke the deadlock on 63 minutes when he turned home a brilliant cross by Sam Byram, the youngster instigating the move with a firm run through the Bristol midfield.

Leeds lead lasted just even minutes when from a free-kick Albert Adomah headed home Richard Fosters cross.

Leeds responded in positive fashion and Diouf hit the post from a corner and Tonge had an effort disallowed. However their endeavour was rewarded when Diouf finished Beccho's flick-on after 80 minutes.

Leeds then doubled their lead when Tonge, who has quietly impressed me as he has regained his match fitness following years in the Stoke wilderness lashed home a 20 yarder past Tom Heaton.

The only point of concern came when City pulled one back in injury-time following a late corner which has apparently been credited as a Rodolph Austin own-goal.

Our victory was slightly soured by the news that City's on-loan defender George Elokobi fractured his ankle on his first start having joined on loan from Wolves and will not feature again this season.

As for Leeds, we move up to ninth and enjoy our third win inside a week. The punishing schedule shows no let up with a visit to Bolton in 72 hours time.

EHD is playing 1st fiddle and others are following with heart and soul. 'cause i didn't see bristol came I watched canaries v Pool game; they are in a big mess down there: generous back four Ala SG and 3/4 ex-boys MF totally over run by scousers. I've seen Snodgrass playing 3 times this season and my judgement here: no way he is PL class player, pathetic moves with out any end result. Maybe if they (3/4) still want to play in PL next season then they better to have proactive Agents in the payroll. Canaries are in the declining curve and it seems to be accelerating game by game.
