The so called problems over the last few days have brought to mind the great managers of the past that Swansea have had. Several names come to the front 1st has got to be John Toshack a great Manager who took the Swans to the top, But at what cost, the path up was too quick and the club ended up with BIG problems having overextended the budget. Next came Frank Burrows ( I am sure we would all like to wish Frank Better health in the future) a great all round experienced manager he was used to running a club on a budget, he was and is a good tactician and Coach who I believed never got the honours he deserved. Then came Jan Molby, much loved and respected by both players and supporters. His tactics were to attack the goal whenever he could, this was the way he played as well as the way he managed the Swans. I will say what a wonderful player and yet Swansea Sacked him. He has said he would never come back to Swansea and who could blame him, yet to me it was his team who took us up to the 2nd division not John Hollins, who I would rather not talk about, only to say the only thing he had going for him was Alan Curtis. We have when you look at the past Managers realised that we have been spoilt in Swansea.
So what do we need in a manager
1/ Someone who can manage a club on a limited budget
2/ An experienced manager who is respected by the players and can motivate them
3/ A good tactician
4/ Someone with Swansea at heart
5/Someone the club can afford
6/ Probably you can think of lots more
Which brings me onto Collin Addison I believe he has most of the above qualifications. Although I have heard about his limited tactical ability I believe that he is limited by the type of players he has. I also believe that with a younger manager the Swans could be where Halifax are now. So what do we do, should we pull a dirty on him by sacking him or not renewing his contract? So let's hear from you on this subject. Who do you consider to be the best Manager the swans have ever had and why? Mines Frank Burrows because I saw him working when I was negotiating and monitoring work placement at the Vetch while he was there.
