Much has been discussed on the message board over the course of the last few weeks about whether Brian Flynn is good or bad for the club. There have been the dissenting voices that believe that our slip towards mid table over recent months has been the death knell for his eighteen months or so in the hot seat. But for every voice with that opinion there has been a voice coming back that what the club needs is stability and that Flynn is building a team for the future.
So we put the question to the vote of the fans and over 470 fans voted in the poll with an overwhelming majority of 73% that we have the right man at the helm and he is the one that we want to take the club through this season and beyond.
There are other reasons cited for this opinion with some of them focusing on the steps that we have taken forward since Flynn took over the mess left by Nick Cusack in October 2002, the fact that he took that squad, destined for oblivion, rebuilt it and saved it's league status. Fans also point to the quality of players that are attracted to the club by the manager. There are common concerns over the tactics and team selections made from both sides of the camp.
Of course, the decision will not be that of the fans but of the board of directors of the club but the poll results give them a decent idea of the feelings of the support for their current manager within the fanbase.
