Cotterill And Williams Named In Wales Squad Friday, 26th Feb 2010 13:08 David Cotterill and Ashley Williams have both been named in the Welsh squad for next week's friendly Defender Williams has become a stalwart in the heart of the Welsh defence in recent years and has even captained the squad against Scotland last year and looks set to retain the honour against the Scandinavian outfit. Wales manager John Toshack's preparation for the Euro 2012 campaign will undoubtedly prove a tough one coming up against a Sweden side helmed by Erik Hamrén. Severly critisised by the Swedish press following the country's failure to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa , expectations and demands are high going into qualification for the tournament co-hosted by Poland and the Ukraine. Dully the 52 year old has named a very strong Swedish his squad to face the Dragons with Barcelona's Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the only name of note omitted from the squad. Despite the enigmatic striker's absence, Hamrén has still named a strong squad with the likes of Lyon's Kim Källström, Al- Hilal's Christian Wilhelmsson and Bolton's Johan Elmander all set to face Wales.
