Malky MacKay believes that the Swans were sharper than his Watford side at Vicarage Road

Swansea's 3-2 win was their first victory on the road in the league since a 1-0 triumph on the same ground back in March and MacKay put the result down to the first 20 minutes where he believes the Swans were sharper than his team.

Speaking via Watford's official website, MacKay said "They started very well and we didn't - that's how we're feeling in the dressing room.

"We weren't quite as sharp and close to them as we should have been in the first 20 minutes, we changed it slightly and then for the next 25 minutes I thought we had a real good go and I thought they goalkeeper produced a few good saves.

"If a goal goes in there, then I think that changes things for the second half.

"The boys certainly knew their jobs but Swansea just got to things that bit sharper than us and we were a wee bit off it for the first 20 minutes.

"It took that time to get into it and we paid for it with the goals.

"We have been starting particularly well and the period after that showed we were dominant.

"Credit to the players in the second half, they went out there and gave everything they had and I think the crowd saw that tonight" commented the Scotsman.

"We told them at half time to just get one goal and then we've got a chance" he added, referring to the 2-0 score at the interval.

"Even when we went 3-0 down, I still felt the same and they were camped in their own six-yard box at times."
