So Come On Wilfried Bony...
Wednesday, 26th Feb 2014 09:12

...score some goals for Swansea, we'll go wild, wild, wild, we'll go wild wild wild. The tune that has started to linger longer round the Liberty as Bony has settled more and more into the routine of English football and closes in on his 20th goal of the season.

Two more at Anfield last Sunday took the Swans' record signing's tally to 19 for the season and one more on Thursday night could not just take him to the magical tally that seems to be a benchmark for strikers but it could help spring the Swans into one of the greatest results in their history.

A victory in the Stadio San Paolo would surely rank right up there with the biggest results the Swans have ever secured in their 101 year history and most fans would look to Bony to be the man who is most likely to grab the goal that could prove so essential.

A 0-0 result in the first leg last week at the Liberty sees the home side go into the game as favourites but with away goals potentially counting double, a strike from Bony could be massively vital as the two sides go head to head for a place in the last 16 of the competition where Frankfurt or Porto await.

And Bony goes into the game not only with his own confidence high after a run that has seen him score 9 goals in his 11 appearances this year but also with strong praise from his captain ringing in his ears.

Ashley Williams told the official website “We had Michu’s goals last season but he has been out for a while, and Bony has stepped up for us

“I think confidence is a big thing, particularly for strikers and you can see the confidence he is playing with.

“We love him and he is involved in the build-up a lot more now. The main thing is confidence, and he’s getting that from finishing his chances right now.

“If he can maintain his performance levels then he will be so dangerous.

"It is not just his goals, during the last few weeks I have really felt sorry for the opposition defenders as he has been unplayable.

“He’s got to be the strongest player in the league. But he uses his strength and body well.

"His strength is obvious, but his touch, his awareness has been excellent too. He is on fire at the moment.”

The Swans are priced at 13/2 to spring an upset an win tomorrow in 90 minutes whilst the in form Bony can be backed at around 10/1 to score the first goal. Bony to score the only goal of the game for the Swans is an attractive looking 90/1. That could pay for a trip to Porto...
