Home and away - it's all the same to Pompey boss
Thursday, 25th Oct 2018 20:58 by pompey-fans.com staff

Kenny Jackett leads his team to Accrington Stanley telling them - It doesn't matter if we're at home or away.

Pompey's away form has been more consistent than their home efforts so far this term but Jackett doesn't mind where points are picked up, as long as they come somewhere.

The Blues are four points clear - down from six - after Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Burton and Jackett said: 'I try to stay consistent about home and away games and don’t note the difference as much as other people might. I demand the same of my players and if we’re going to be successful then we’re going to need a good record from both.

'The points total will be high for any team that gets promoted out of this division and so you need a consistent run. You need to be able to collect results against sides that are at the top or the bottom and be adaptable enough to face different kinds of opposition.

'We got 66 points last season and finished eighth, so we’ve set out to do better than that this time around. There will be plenty of sides in this division looking at those three promotion places and we’re one of them.

'Our players should be encouraged without being complacent at all — you have to stay humble and realise you need to work hard for everything you get.'

Pompey will be without injured Dion Donohue and banned Tom Naylor at Accrington.
