Middlesbrough v QPR Betting Preview

The LFW pundits are back to survey the weekend markets for value, and look ahead to QPR's trip to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

A small return on a lucky 15 bet reduced Brian’ loss last week, he is now £36.35 n profit. Lewis continues to haemorrhage money and is now down £410.78.

The R’s travel up to the Riverside this Saturday and I think we are capable of getting at least a point. I know that Celtic want to join the Premier league and Strachan is trying to take a short cut by buying most of his old side but he has not had the best of starts to his career at the Riverside. I will go for a 1-1 draw and will also have a couple of quid on Cookie to get the first goal.

Elsewhere all eyes will be on Stamford Bridge where Terry and Bridge could come face to face If Bridge goes to shake Terry’s hand at the beginning of the game and just chins him he would get my vote for Player of the Year. Paddy Power have some great fun bets and we will have a couple of quid on Terry getting a card for fouling Bridge and the same for Wayne returning the favour.

Ireland play England at Twickenham and I will have go for Tommy Bowe as first try scorer.

At Crayford on Saturday morning the Ladbrokes golden jacket meeting takes place and I will have a couple of bets on the greyhounds. I like the dogs (no jokes about ex girlfriends or Kerry Katonna) it is a good night out and it is a shame that a great track like Wimbledon has closed down and rumours are that others are on the way out.

In the Racing Post Chase at Kempton I will back an old favourite of mine Private Be and will finish off with my normal footie bet.

For the weekend:
£7.50 Correct Score Middlesbrough 1 QPR 1 6/1

Going to be a brief one this week due to my unusually busy schedule – perhaps a change of tactic (absolute no research) will benefit the disastrous betting fund.

QPR against Middlesbrough would have been down as a hopeful playoff battle at the start of the season, but with both sides having extremely poor seasons, it now has the look of a mid-table snooze fest. However the home side are in a good position to sneak sixth place if they can put a late season run together.

Middlesbrough’s main problem all season has been scoring goals, in fact they have conceded more than they have scored at the Riverside this season which is unusual stat for a team in the top half of the league.

QPR looked to have turned a corner last weekend and Mick Harford usually signs of on caretaker duty with a triumph away from home so QPR – Draw no bet (16/5 Victor Chandler), is the recommendation this weekend.

Also, it actually staggers me to say this but Rangers looked threatening, yes threatening, from set pieces last weekend. Gorrks and Stewart can restore my faith in centre back value, by scoring at anytime – both 12/1.

Stoke City’s centre backs will also lead our charge this weekend, Huth (12/1 Paddypower.com) and Ryan Shawcross (9/1 Paddypower.com) both scored in the past week, and with fragile Arsenal visiting the Britannia this weekend expect both to be causing havoc in the Arsenal penalty area.

Arsenal have only failed to score in three Premier League games this season, both teams to find the net (4/5 Coral.com) is odds-on but looks a strong bet.

For the weekend:
£15 on QPR (draw no bet) – 16/5 Victor Chandler
£5 on Gorkks to score anytime – 12/1 Paddypower
£5 on Stewart to score anytime – 12/1 Paddypower

£7.50 on Ryan Shawcross to score anytime – 9/1 Paddypower
£7.50 on Robert Huth to score anytime – 12/1 Paddypower

£10 Acc
Stoke vs. Arsenal both teams to score – 4/5 Coral
Swansea to win to nil vs. Peterborough – 5/4 Bet365
Over 2.5 goals in Watford vs. Newcastle – 4/5 Victor Chandler
Bristol City +1 (Asian Handicap) vs. Ipswich – 4/5 Victor Chandler
