Middlesbrough extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 1-1 draw against Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

A trip to south Wales was never going to be an easy test but Neil Warnock will be delighted with the way his side nullified the clear physical threat of his former club on a difficult afternoon.

The wet and greasy pitch made for an incredibly scrappy opening period with neither side really able to get a grip on the game.

Chances were at a premium with a half-chance for Marcus Tavernier being sent over the crossbar before Harry Wilson curled an effort off target.

Middlesbrough made the breakthrough late in the first period when George Saville scored his second in two games with an excellent glancing header.

The second half was slightly more open with both sides creating openings.

Tavernier went closest for the Teessiders when he sent his head narrowly over the bar.

But Cardiff got their equaliser when Sheyi Ojo converted from close range after a goalmouth scramble.

Bonkers for Boro aims to provide a unique offering of Middlesbrough content unlike anything else online.
