Barnsley Step Up To Give Valuable Assistance To Canaries

A goal in the 88th minute proves of value to Norwich City yet again. This time, though, it was scored by Barnsley's Andy Gray to earn a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City on Welsh turf.

It means, of course, that Cardiff now sit one point behind Norwich City still to contest their 37th game of the season before a Sky Televison audience of hundreds of thousands sitting with hastily constructed voodoo dolls, trying to vex the Boys in Yellow to play down to their usual home standards.

It will also mean that for the coming 24 hours, everybody on the playing staff at Carrow Road, and thousands of Norwich City supportrs right across the globe will know exactly what three points can mean tomorrow evening.

Tuesday's fixtures, without being unkind to Scunthopre, or Preston; Burnley or Coventry; or Ipswich or Watford will have no impact whatsoever on the top six. Next Saturday, while Norwich visit Hull, Swansea play host to Notts Forest, with both sides out to make amends for yesterday.

Milwall is doing a good job of unsettling the table toppers, and the hopes for Norwich City supporters is that they maintain the pressure by putting another spanner in Dave Jones' works as Cardiff travel to the New Den.

Leeds seem to be wavering against the other Yorkshire sides, and it will be useful if the Blades can take another slice of the Yorkshire hospitality cake Simon Grayson's boys are handing out.

Another Yorkshire side with an uncanny knack of spoiling things for the top six is Doncaster Rovers. It has to be hoped that they can keep that form up as they play host to QPR.

It now boils down to 25,000 of Y'Army getting together to take all three points tomorrow. Just as Norfolk is buzzing with anticipation of what may be as the run in to May gets down to single figures. Bristol City players and fans will be aware of the damage they can inflict upon Paul Lambert's heroes.

The game might be on Sky, but THE place to be tomoorow night is Carrow Road.

Come On You Yellows!
