Trying to find a real difference between Norwich City and Leeds United, based upon how things have gone so far this season is not easy.

Even Leeds’ manager, Simon Grayson, believes this game is probably too close to call.

The official Leeds United website reports a pre-match interview with Grayson.

"I think both Norwich and ourselves have done well so far this season and have adapted," said Grayson.

"They've had some good results and liked us they have had a few injuries, although players are starting to come back.

"They've changed their system a few times and have been flexible, but they have some good players and are a decent team with some good goal threats.

"We also had two close games last season, beating each other with late goals, so Saturday should be a good game."

A couple of players that will not make the trip to Carrow Road include Ben Parker and Richard Naylor. Memories of previous meetings will help to indicate that this can only be good news for Grant Holt.

The Yorkshire Evening Post publishes predictions by its readers. One of them is too optimistic, maybe, when he predicts a Leeds win of 3 goals to 1. The others go for 2-1 to Leeds with only one being realistic and opting for a 2-2 draw.

So far as Norwich City is concerned, Korey Smith is ruled out, following the injury he picked up from Reading’s Jem Karacan. With Matthew Gill also injured and Michael Nelson and Andrew Surman still on the recovery trail, Lambert is hoping to sign an emergency loan in time to face Leeds. Although Lambert is not optimistic.

Local rag, the Pink Un reports Lambert as saying that the chances of that loan were “more unlikely than likely to happen”.

This is not the only outcome of the injury to Korey Smith. The decision by the 25 year-old referee, Michael Oliver to allow Karacan to go scott free when Grant Holt saw a straight red for a far less physical challenge on Reading’s Ian Harte so enraged the Norwich manager that he wandered out of his technical area.

In what can only be described as petulance by a young referee out of his depth at this level, Michael Oliver dismissed Lambert to the stands.

Facing a charge of “Improper Conduct”, Lambert has until 4-00pm to answer to the charge.

The line up and the bench is bound to attract interest from all parties tomorrow afternoon.

It is always difficult to predict a result, especially as Norwich City seems to be vulnerable at home. However, the message must have been driven home to the players that all the good work done on the road will count for nothing if they do not make more of the home advantage.

2-1 to Norwich.
