Norwich City has signed Arsenal's Henri Lansbury on a one month emergency loan deal in time to face Ipswich on Sunday.

The 20 year old, from Enfield, can play midfield or in goal, but it will be his midfield capabilities that will be called upon in the East Anglian derby.

Lansbury is highly rated by Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, who draws Ray Parlour as a comparison to the youngster.

Still waiting to make the breakthrough into the first team set up at The Emirates, Lansbury has featured, and scored, for Arsenal in the Carling Cup against Spurs. He has also played in the Premiership when on loan to Watford.

Paul Lambert is delighted to have sealed the deal. "Im delighted Arsenal have agreed to let Henri come here," he said. “I saw him when he was at Watford and Scunthorpe and he’s a quality young player, very positive in his play."

Korey Smith's injury has added to Lambert's headaches, although such a promising youngster, with an England youth cap to his name, wil ease the way forward.
