Interesting statistic; in the 74 games that Paul Lambert has been in charge of since becoming manager Norwich has never lost two games in a row. That statistic, courtesy of BBC TV's Football League Show.

All credit to the Coventry staff for making certain that this game went ahead, although the playing surface still looked very difficult at times.

Coventry manager Adie Boothroyd was ambiguous about the referee, Chris Sarginson's decisions by admitting that a red card shown to Aron Gunarsson was deserved, but was feeling aggrieved that a penalty decision was not given Coventry's way after Michael Nelson tripped and brought down Arsenal loanee, Henri Lansbury.

There is a fair point to that. With the benefit of TV highlights, Nelson clearly slipped before tangling with Platt and Sarginson was right to wave play on as it was unintentional.

However, Gunarsson clearly slipped after trying to play the ball. Yes, it did mean that the Icelander went through with both feet up, but Sarginson may have been a tad harsh in applying the letter and not the spirit of the laws of the game.

Coventry played well with ten men, equalising Holt's opener within minutes. There was a certain something about Holt's second that meant even 30 men could not have defended against.

Norwich manager, Paul Lambert has been praising the fact that Grant Holt is an old-fashioned type of centre forward, and the way in which Holt scored that winning goal proved that to a tee.

Last week there was all kinds of debate about whether or not Norwich was a one man team. As supporters we all hope that we are not, but from what little of the match was shown on television, Norwich seemed to have more purpose to their strategies.

Of course, winning or losing is not down to one man on his own, but the other nine outfielders all seemed to have a target in mind when they set out on each play.

Well done to every supporter that managed to get to the Ricoh Arena, some of the stories relating to travel to and from games, some not called off until the last minute, emphasises just how passionate our travelling supporters are.

Well done to the team, as well, of course. A victory at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day will definitely be the icing on the Christmas cake.
