Colchester United's Marc Tierny looks set to sign for Norwich after former Colchester manager, Adie Boothroyd, now at Coventry, told reporters of Norwich City's interest.

Tierny had interested the Coventry gaffer as well, knowing Tierny from before. However, Boothroyd also knew that Norwich Manager, Paul Lambert was responsible for introducing Tierny to Colchester and might have put a bid in for him in the summer had Lambert not gone for Steven Smith instead.

Marc Tierny, as every other leader has pointed out, famously declared that he would never join Norwich during the heated times when Lambert left Colchester to head north to Carrow Road.

Playing at left back, Tierny is 25 years old and stands 6 feet tall. Out of contract in the summer, Colchester are keen to get something for the player before he is able to walk away.

Having missed the last couple of games for Colchester, the supporters have been suspicious about Tierny's motives in a way that Norwich supporters suspected Dean Ashton's absence just before his move to West Ham.

Both Lambert and Boothroyd admire Tierny for his abilities. Another winner for Lambert? With a touch not unlike King Midas, it looks that way.
