During Norwich City's match against Reading, referee's assistant, Adrian Sannerude appeared to have been hit by a flying object.

The incident happened in the 70th minute when Reading's Ian Harte prepared to take a throw in near the corner flag. It is likely that the object was aimed at Harte.

Harte, who was the central figure in Grant Holt's rescinded straight red card in the reverse fixture. A tackle worth at most a yellow card turned to red as Harte played the wounded warrior on the floor.

The object, it seems, was thrown from the Lower Barclay in the region of Block E. That area is the most vociferous in the ground, and there is much gesticulating and abusive exchanges between away supporters in that corner.

According to Norwich City Press Officer, Joe Ferrari, the police have identified a man and are now conducting further enquiries.

Whether or not the object had hit Harte, the incident is bound to lead to the identified person being prosecuted and he will be very fortunate if he is ever allowed to watch his favourite team ever in his life again.
