How many managers would have spat a dummy and called for the board to cough up silly money for a target with inflated price tags attached? One would hesitate to guess how Norwich City manager, Paul Lambert, reacted to the £3m price tag Peterborough placed on Craig Mackail-Smith.

There was always a hope that Lambert might get somebody in to help Grant Holt out. Holt might be full of goals, but he is still only one person, and he couldn't possibly be everywhere at the same time.

Then Aaron Wilbraham does his back in, so joining Chrissy Martin on the physio's table. The draw against Hull was all the more incredible considering the strike power available to Lambert.

Even the television pundits were saying Norwich City might well make an automatic promotion spot their own if they could get a striker in.

Lambert has gone one better, he has got two. Sam Vokes from Wolves. Well, Wolves is the club holding his contract. Sam Vokes has been loaned out to Bristol City, Sheffield Untied and Leeds United over the past two seasons. Last season with Leeds he netted once; at Bristol he made one appearance as a substitute and at the Blades he scored once in four games.

The other player Lambert has signed is young Spaniard, Dani Pacheco. Turning 20 on January 5th Dani Pacheco was originally on the books at Bareclona until Liverpool signed him in 2007.

Watch this video clip and let Dani Pacheco's performance describe the lad.
