Will 'El Asesino' Make It A Quick Kill Against Scunthorpe
Will 'El Asesino' Make It A Quick Kill Against Scunthorpe

When Norwich City takes on Scunthorpe United at Carrow Road on Saturday Hope will be high that Paul Lambert will give young Liverpool loan player, Dani Pacheco the chance to show his abilities, as witnessed on YouTube.

Nicknamed 'El Asesino'; or The Assassin by former team mates when playing for Barcelona Academy, Pacheco has been stuck with reserve games at Liverpool, but he has shown a sure knack of scoring from dead balls and awkward angles with no fear whatsoever.

Hard to tell from the video clips if El Asesino can match Wes Hoolahan for speed, or Henri Lansbury for off-the-ball play, but add Dani to the mix of Lansbury, Hoolahan and Andrew Crofts, the only player that Scunthorpe can count out of the likely scorers is John Ruddy. And who can tell if Ruddy were to get up for a last minute corner that the number 1 doesn't get onto the score statistics for the end of season?

Quite possibly, Paul Lambert will get Sam Vokes to play up front to feed Grant Holt as well. With Russell Martin hovering with his killer shots from unexpected quarters and Marc Tierney's threat from the left, the possible options for scoring will have Scunthorpe playing for damage limitation if Norwich gets the first shot in.

Ex Canary, Michael Nelson might be able to give a positive edge to his interviews regarding his first return to Carrow Road since his January transfer, but his new side's record since his arrival must make Nelson uncertain inside. Since his arrival Scunthorpe have won just three of twelve games, and have yet to earn a single point away from home in 2011.

Despite the desire to impress a future manager, the word from Lincolnshire has it that caretaker's assistant; Lee Turnbull is out to maintain the status quo. Not the best idea if you are looking to save your side from relegation, because the status quo, a Latin term for maintaining the current or existing state of affairs, has left Scunthorpe United on the verge of relegation back to League One.

Paul Lambert has performed wonders since his arrival, and the question on every single soldier in the Yellow Army must be, is this the loan to match the loans of 2004, when we last won promotion to the Premier League?

It feels as though it is.
