Curtis speaks up

"Peterborough, Northampton and Barnet are in exactly the same position as we were last season," explained Curtis. "Brentford, Cardiff and Cambridge had built up a similar gap on the pack and it was a gap we never really felt we could close. "Things can still go wrong, but the fantastic thing about it is that our destiny is very much in our own hands.

"It was a great point at Brighton, especially when we heard all the other results coming through. I don't think Brighton have played as well against anybody this season as they did in the second half. "We have stuttered a bit of late, but with 46 games to play you can't play well all the time. "If you look at all the top sides in all the divisions, with the exception of possibly Manchester United, they have all become a bit indifferent. That tends to happen at this stage of the season."

Meanwhile, Swansea will be keeping a close eye this week on Jonathan Coates who limped off at the interval against Brighton with a knee injury. "He didn't train yesterday, but it doesn't look serious," confirmed Curtis. Manager John Hollins is equally hopeful of Coates being available.

"I think we caught it early enough," he added. Peterborough boss Barry Fry is hoping to have Dean Hooper, Matthew Wicks and Francis Green back in action for their trip to Vetch Field. The trio missed the 3-3 draw at home to Rochdale on Saturday through injury, but Fry is confident of announcing their return this weekend. Brighton's Micky Adams has picked up the Nationwide Third Division manager-of-the-month award despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Swansea on Saturday. Brighton went through March unbeaten with five wins from six games to move within five points off the play-offs.
