Swans To Strengthen Position?

Northampton Town v Swansea City - Match Preview

From A Swansea Perspective

There is always something unnerving about heading off to face a side that have not won at home all season. We have an uncanny knack of ending runs that nobody else can end. Remember the year that Northampton walked the bottom division? Who was the only side to beat them home and away? Co-incidentally, I think Pascoe may have scored the winner at their place that season (anyone confirm) which may or may not be a lucky omen. Anyway, I will never forgive Northampton for Wembley 1997 so on that basis alone I really hope we stuff em

Team News

Kenny Jackett is no Rafa Benetiz which means he is not contractually obliged to make changes from last week's side and you would have to say that he probably isn't going to. Kevin Amankwaah and Darren Way will both undergo late fitness tests but even if they pass them you just cannot see them returning into the starting line up

Northampton will be without full-back Andy Holt, who is out for up to three weeks with a fractured rib.

Winger Mitchell Cole should be fit after flu, and experienced defender Sean Dyche is pushing for a recall after a midweek reserve-team run-out.

Form Guides

As I said at the start the Cobblers haven't won at home this term at all and the Swans are on the back of a run that has seen them bag 10 of the last 15 points in the league. Add to that a JPT success on penalties and you should have a squad high on confidence heading to Sixfields. On that basis alone I have to say its hard to see us losing.

What The Bookies Say

The bookies offer the same odds (6/4) on both a home and away win tomorrow with the draw available on Bet 365 at 9/4

Had I written this preview before the odds were published on 365 I would have given you no better than 1/4 that they would have had Lee Trundle as shortest odds for first scorer and I would have been right with LT10 available to back at 9/2 just ahead of Leon Knight at 5/1 - you can probably back the same scorer at nearer 500/1 on Betfair! Both Kirk and McGleish (11/2) are ahead of Rory Fallon (6/1) whilst Dennis Lawrence is 28/1 to repeat his feat of last Sunday

Rory Fallon is due a goal in my opinion and can be backed for first goal in a double with a 2-1 Swans win at 40/1.

What Do The Fans Think?

110 predictions into date see 89 of them saying that the Swans will triumph ahead of draw (15) and home win (6) - the most backed scoreline is 2-1 Swansea whilst the goalscorer predictions is dominated by Trundle (45) ahead of Fallon (32)

JackArmy.net Predicts

I got one right last week which means no crap excuses this week around so now I am on a roll lets go for another Swans win. By the odd goal in three.
