Evening Post columnist tells Paul Jewell to stop whining about the Ferrie Bodde saga

Mark Orders uses his column in the Evening Post to give his views on the saga that has rumbled on all summer and includes everything from demands to leave, statements via sky sports, withdrawals and re-entries (oo-er missus) and valuations that are yet to be met.

It has taken a new twist this week with Ferrie telling Sky Sports that Roberto has told him a deal can be done - which is what we have said all season.  A deal can be done IF the price is right.

But Orders has called for the saga to come to an end saying "Derby boss Jewell should cut the whining about how frustrated he is by the protracted nature of the whole affair.

"The message for him and his club is simple - make a realistic offer for Bodde. Or go away."

Which is pretty much what has been said all summer (the last line of that statement rather than the bit about stopping whining!)

Orders though does demonstrate his faith in Roberto getting in the right replacement should the deal eventually be concluded saying "no-one is irreplaceable.

"Bodde may be a talent, but Swansea City have seen a lot of good players leave over the years and managed to get by without them. Did the world end after Lee Trundle departed for Bristol City? Did the sun come up the morning after Ivor Allchurch switched to Newcastle United?

We come back to the old line about no one player being bigger than any club.

"No, if Bodde goes through with his wish to leave, it will be a case of Roberto Martinez using his contacts and knowledge to hunt down a suitable replacement. And Swansea making the best of things."

One thing has become pretty evident though as the saga unfolds is that Bodde has never received the best of advice during this and the statements released to Sky Sports were ill advised at best whilst Swansea's response, in fairness, has always been full of dignity refusing to stoop to the level of tricks made elsewhere.

Something Orders agreed with as he accused Derby of unsettling the player through their very public chase of him.

Derby may well end up with their man, I wonder how they will react though when the shoe is on the other foot?
