Southampton boss Jan Poortvliet was singing the praises of Ferrie Bodde after another midfield master display

Ferrie was once again on top form as Swansea City breezed past Southampton at the Liberty and his display did not go un-notioced on the opposition bench.

There are not too many managers in the Championship who would disagree with the assessment that they could do with a Ferrie Bodde but this is Swansea's midfield maestro even if the Premiership may one day come calling (maybe that could even be with Swansea?)

Speaking after the game, Poortvilet said "I know Ferrie from The Hague

"That's the sort of player we need. Not Ferrie because he is here, but we need players who are leaders on the pitch.

"A player like Ferrie would be ideal for us — someone who knows when to kick, when to play, when to play hard and when to shoot.

"I heard stories about other teams looking at him in the summer and now I can see why. You never know, he could play for Holland — but not in the Championship. He would have to be playing in the Premier League."
