On loan midfielder Joe Thompson has been recalled by Tranmere Rovers after injuries have taken their toll on their promotion campaign.

With Tranmere's manager Ronnie Moore bemoaning injuries at such a vital time of the season, it was no surprise that he was recalled to the Birkenhead based outfit as they took advantage of the 24 hr recall clause.

Thompson had played seven games whilst on loan at Spotland, with Dale picking up two wins and three draws in that time.
