Pub Guide - The White House Sunday, 4th Apr 2004 22:04
Charlie1 takes a look at the White Horse on Uxbridge Road, opposite the police station. It's no more than five minutes from the ground and is easily walkable from the tube, nearest station Shepherds Bush on the Hammersmith Line. A handy calling point between The Green and the ground.
Reviewer - Charlie1 Name of pub -The White Horse Location - On the Uxbridge Road opposite Shepherds Bush police station. Size -Looks small from the outside but opens up inside. Medium I'd say. Selection of beers - Good, usual available. Price of drinks - Dunno, always wankered. How full does it get on a matchday?Packed. Fitness of bar staff -Used to be an amazing blonde bit, with lovely arse and melons. Going back 7 or 8 years now mind. How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? 5 minutes. Sky Sports? - Yes - footie and racing always on the big screens. Suitable for away fans? Yes if they get in there early enough. Suitable for families and kids? Don't get many in there, probably not I'd say. What's the smoking situation? Full of the stuff. Like a big fog at times. Gets hot. Beer garden - Concreted! It has one, fair few tables and chairs. As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? You wouldn't want to park up after having a vindaloo the night before. Used to pong a bit. Does it serve food? Just booze. Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between?Traditional pub. In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub?Real (Irish) pub full of old boys and characters. If your out with a girl, you wouldn't go there mind. But full of rangers and a good drink, QPR only in the main. I've had some good seshs in there! Good atmosphere and juke box. Pool table always in use and the same old Paddy is always playing pool whenever I'm in there! Always has a whiskey on the go and has not changed his appearance for over 10 years! Proper boozer.
