Tan Welcoming Swans With Open Arms
Sunday, 27th Oct 2013 10:53

It used to be said that Dave Jones never understood the rivalry of a Welsh derby but it now seems that Vincent Tan could be falling into the same trap as he says he fails to understand the rivalry between the two clubs.

Next Sunday the two sides will lock horns for the first time in the Premier League in front of the Sky TV cameras in what will be the biggest South Wales derby to date.

Both sides will give themselves a chance of completing a league double for the first time with the Swans possibly set to start as slight favourites for the game although as with most derbies the odds tend to go out of the window.

And Cardiff owner Tan does not understand that emotions will run high at the Cardiff City Stadium as he explained "I've been told to understand that emotions run high and they are massive rivals.

"It's hard fo me to understand why you have a big rivalry with your neighbours. They are from the same nation.

"We should give them as warm a welcome as we can. Just like when we go there."

The Swans won on their last visit to Cardiff thanks to Marvin Emnes goal in their promotion winning season from the Championship but a Craig Bellamy goal was the only one of the game in the return fixture at the Liberty.
