Swansea 0 West Ham 0 - How The Players Fared
Sunday, 27th Oct 2013 20:32

How did the players fare in today's game against West Ham? We look at the performances of each players and give them our ratings. Do you agree with our views?

Michel Vorm

A very uncharacteristically shaky game today from Vorm. Whether it was the aerial presence of West Ham or whether he was just off form but he never looked comfortable with balls into the box and never commanded his area as we have come to expect. Lucky not to score an own goal and definitely seen better from him. 5

Angel Rangel

Didn't really put a foot wrong defensively but seemed to get caught out of position a little in the first half and never really offered the attacking outlet that we have started to expect from him. Not a bad game but definitely not at his best. 7

Ashley Williams

Was brilliant to see Ash back where he belongs in the centre of our defence. A composed game from the captain and long may it continue. 7

Chico Flores

Didn't really put a foot wrong in defence but has a habit of chasing balls sometimes too far up the pitch. Desperately unlucky not to score in the first half but cut out the frankly embarrassing play acting, it's pitiful to watch 6

Neil Taylor

It's difficult to know how much a long lay off affects match fitness but Neil isn't quite there on his full sharpness at the moment. We know he is a class act and this run in the side will do him the world of good. Seemed to offer more of an attacking outlet after Pablo came on. 6

Leon Britton

Leon has had better games but he never really put a foot wrong. Battled for the ball as we know that he does and often was the man who stopped a dangerous looking counter attack. Basically does what Leon does. 7

Jonathan De Guzman

I felt today that JDG wasn't in the game for periods and he never really seemed to get into it fully at any stage. Having said that he never really cost us anything with his play so it's difficult to be too critical 6

Nathan Dyer

I was a little disappointed in Nathan today at times. He seemed to be ready to take the defender on quite a few times but he certainly wasn't seeing the runs of Vazquez in the first half and all too often seemed to prefer the option to turn backwards for the safety pass rather than looking to set up an attacking pass? 6

Wayne Routledge

I don't know what it is with Routs at the moment but he's not looking overly dangerous and his first touch seems to have disappeared from him. Maybe he needs a couple of games as an impact substitute so I wouldn't write him off but not at his best for the last month or so. 6

Michu

I wonder whether Michu needs the rest he is about to have for a week. With European games and internationals he has barely had any time off since the summer and I think it's showing. Never fully involved today 6

Alvaro Vazquez

There were times I felt sorry for him today as he was making runs but not being seen. I wonder if he would have been picked out by Pablo had he been on the pitch at the same time as him but never had any service and certainly never looked like scoring 6

Pablo Hernandez

It was brilliant to see Pablo back and our creativity certainly seemed to go up a notch when he was on the pitch. Seemed to make things happen and we need to keep him fit as we are a better side with him in it. Or certainly when he is on form we are. 8

Wilfried Bony

Certainly unlucky not to score shortly after he came on but like Vazquez before him never given any decent service to do a great deal with it. 6
