Ronald Koeman has revealed that he does have an injury concern ahead of Saints trip to the Potteries to take on Stoke City for a place in the Capital One Cup quarter finals.

Saints hope of reaching the last eight of the Capital One Cup have been dealt a blow ahead of the match at the Britannia Stadium with the news that Sadie Mane has an ankle injury and will be assessed ahead of the game.

If Mane does not pass muster it will give a chance for Shane Long to stake his claim for a place in the starting line up, such is the strength of the squad these days it is great that we have the likes of Long to come in rather than an untried youngster.

Although Saints would prefer to have Mane available even if he doesn't feature the side will still have enough fire power to give themselves a great chance of progressing.

WestSussexSaint added 21:02 - Oct 28 Unless Mane is 100% the it is not worth the risk. Long can do a good job and may be better suited away from home anyway. I don't expect this to be the only change from Saturday's team either enforced or otherwise.
