Dale's Andy Cannon will be forced to sit out this weekend's visit to Essex after picking up a one match suspension.

His yellow card against Oldham on Saturday was enough to trigger the suspension after accumulating five yellow cards over the course of the season - with all five coming in his last eight appearances for the club.

It may leave something of an injury nightmare for Keith Hill, with expected Joe Rafferty missing recently with a stomach strain sustained at Gigg Lane and Rhys Bennett still having issues with his hamstring.

Jamie Allen and Peter Vincenti are also walking a suspension tightrope with both just one yellow card away from a ban.
